Technology

  • ICT Skills are taught across the whole school.  Teachers are equipped to integrate technology into each subject area.

  • There are four computer laboratories set up in the school.

  • There are 30 wireless laptop computers which are linked to the internet and school network.  These laptops are available for use in classrooms around the school.

  • In the computer laboratories, students are guided through training sessions in:  Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel and Internet Explorer before developing their major electronic presentations across all subject areas.

Students and teachers regularly use the school’s data projectors so that students’ electronic presentations can be displayed.  The projectors are also used by teachers so that websites and CD Roms on specific topics can be displayed to classes.

Technology resources are updated annually for staff and students.  We have purchased advanced graphics software packages this year.

There are computers in some classrooms and in all staffrooms.  The new CAD programs mean that students are more efficient and productive in their technical drawings.

In music, student learning is enhanced through the use of computer-attached music keyboards and the use of programs for music notation and manipulation.

New Graphic Design courses in Visual Arts and Design and Technology are being taught.  Students will be given the opportunity to enhance skills in video editing, film, digital media and 3D animation.
